2015 F-250 WIX 57151 4,458 Miles [Cut Open]

I have to say that versus the MC FL-2051s that I ran recently, this WIX is substantially better with regards to construction. Wire-backed media is undoubtedly the reason. The can is thicker than the MC (harder to cut with my filter cutter) and the filter just feels **solid**. Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 was used with this WIX and a Carquest Blue 84151 replaced this one (also made by Affinia in the US) along with Kendall Super-Dxa 15W-40.

It looks good. But that Motorcraft didn't look bad either. This one only looks good because of the wire backed media, as you said. My friend always runs Motorcraft filters on his 6.7L.

You would think. But look closely at the photos of the center tube. You can see wire backing through the slits. Guess this one doesn't fit the regular construction of the normal WIX filters.

Yeah I noticed that -- a perforated center tube -- interesting.

It's obviously not the "regular" WIX which is 95% @ 20 microns.

This one is:
50% @ 3 microns (beta 2 = 3)
95% @ 12 microns (beta 20 = 12)
98.7% @ 17 microns (beta 75 = 17)

that is the same filter has my step fathers F250 has on it. It's one if the biggest filters I've ever seen at Wally world.

Meh...the string around the media in the MC is something from the 1960s and it did not remain in place. Until FRAM makes an Ultra for it, I am going to stick with the WIX/CQ Blue filters.

Agreed. Even if the cost is a few dollars more, it is worth it to me not to have to worry about a filter that could fail due to weak media or some such. According to ZeeOSix's post, the efficiency on the WIX/Clarcor is excellent.
