I have 2014 Accord v6.
Dealer service in Georgia for full synthetic 0-20 was very reasonable. Recently moved to Tampa. Dealer here has Honda synthetic blend 0-20 and doesn't recommend or offer full synthetic. Service advisor said that originally 0 20 synthetic was only available, but now that a synthetic blend was available, full synthetic was not helpful or required. I basically follow the OCI onboard.

Was there a question in there? Don't get hung up on synthetic or synthetic blend it's somewhat marketing since they can call a group 3 oil synthetic. The more important part is that the oil meets the manufacturer requirements in your case it's probably API SN/GF5 with a 0w20 viscosity.

Another tip, service writers don't usually know jack about oil that's what you come here for.

For all intensive purposes you could run 5w20 synthetic or syn blend meeting API SN/GF5 outside of warranty.

Engines have a tolerance for different grades you could even run 5w30 or 10w30 easily but may suffer miniscule fuel economy and power losses, plus your dealer may give you warranty issues

Just follow the maintenance minder. The Honda synthetic blend is a perfectly fine for that OCI and usually cheaper ($30-$40 w filter) . Dealers usually do a better job than the quick lube places. If you are going to the dealer for service the vast majority of suggested services are unneeded and unnecessary. Do only what the maintenance schedule says. Some items like cabin air filters are cheap ($15) and easy (5 min) to change yourself. (Dealer usually charge $80-100 to change them)

For other maintenance items look at your driving habits and choose the regular or severe schedule as appropriate.

That's one of my peeves, too. It makes no sense that way ("intensive..."). That is what I thought it was for 1/2 my life. Finally I looked it up and realized I'd heard it or learned it wrong, too.

Sorry, the question implied was whether the lower priced blend was adequate protection.

Yes, it is adequate. You can always upgrade to a full syn, but that would mean going somewhere else or bring your own oil (if the dealership is okay with that).

What is your driving condition ? With full synthetic oil you may be able to reduce number of oil change by 1/3, i.e., if you use syn-blend and change oil when OLM went down to 10%, you may be able to reset OLM when it went down to zero and keep full synthetic oil in the engine and change it it when OLM went down to 60-70%.

This way your oil cost is about the same but you don't need to get under the car to change oil so often.
