So glad I don't live in the rustbelt.
That's a tough one. If that's all it needs and you are good for 3 years, maybe worth it. But spend $1100 now and maybe you will need a front subframe in 6 month for another $1100. With those low miles you should be able to sell it for $2-3K. Use that and money you would have spent on the repair for something nicer.Repair is $1507 CAD ( 1100USD) and the milage is 128600.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm having my mechanic give it a full look over to determine if it'll need more fixes within the next 1-2 years. I'll replyThat's a tough one. I'd say it's up to you personally but $1100 could net you some more time & miles. Do you put a lot of miles on this car? It could be your "winter beater" & just repair stuff like this when it comes up. I can't say one way or another b/c no pics of the overall car but I'd say this would be your last fix on this one by the time you get a few more years out of it the other sides will need to be looked into, or traded in, or scrapped.repair is quoted at 1100 USD. milage is 128600

Try & see if they can spray paint all of your underside while they're in their. That might buy you some time. I did the same on my F350. Seems the drivers side gets the worst rust so it's surprising to hear yours is on the right rear (passenger side rear). Unless you drive on the opposite side of the road like U.K. but I don't think they see this type of rust there.Round 6000 miles a year since I got it.
My bad, its the left rear side (driver). I'm up in Canada. Are you suggesting rust protection?Try & see if they can spray paint all of your underside while they're in their. Thanks & that makes sense from my experience. Normally when one says left or right it's when you're sitting in the driver's seat fyi. Yes, "Rust protection" lol Paint is about the best all around product that I'm aware of but perhaps prime, paint, & then rust protection product that can by applied over the paint? Not sure but really have them spray everything under their if you can.My bad, its the left rear side (driver). I'm up in Canada. Are you suggesting rust protection?
