I purchased a 2012 Civic LX for the wife a few months ago. The Maintenance Minder still shows 40% oil life at 6500 miles, but I already have an oil change on hand for it. (4qts Mobil 1 0w20)
However I took advantage of the Quaker State Ultimate Durability $20 rebate for my mom's car and thought about doing so for this one. While picking up another FAR jug of G-Oil I looked for the Quaker State Ultimate Durability in 0w20 and it is not carried here. The only thing I can find in 0w20 here in Louisiana is Mobil 1.
Long story short, I am debating returning the M1 in favor for a couple of jugs of Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5w20. Especially since we rarely see below freezing temps and the R18 engine was previously spec'd for 5w20 until 2012.
Worth exchanging the M1 for Quaker State Ultimate Durability to save $20 and gain an extra quart of oil?
I debated running some of the G-Oil I have stocked up on but will continue to use that in family/friends cars for their changes that spec 5w30.
