I'd like them to put 250,000 miles on these trucks and then do the comparison.

Oh no... look who didn't win...

Why don't they also tell us important things like towing the 12,500 lbs (so the Audi inside weighs 4-4.5k and the trailer is 7-8k empty?) and do it for 250 miles. Then tell us things like MPG! Cost?

Then lets bring it up here and start at 4,500 feet and take it up to 8-10k and see what plays out.

The GMC does look the best IMB.

That's okay. They did say that the interior felt outdated and a few other things to bash on.

I'll grab some

and watch the response.

Bill

PS: If they made 250k it would be interesting to see 2 things;

1. How much it cost and maintenance to get to the 250k.

2. How it performed for the test like G-Man said!

A ford guy here, and this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Matches up with testing from other sources pretty well. The big take home message in my book is all three can tow like crazy and all have their own merits. In my book, Ford's issues right now are the overly massive styling and extra weight they are carrying around that saps the extra power from the engine lineup. Your opinion may vary... and I'm fine with that.

I'd agree a 250k test would be interesting, but trying to get and keep three trucks together doing similar enough things would be difficult. I'd suscribe to whomeever could actually bankroll such a thing...

Oh no... look who didn't go bankrupt....

Yeah, we can play this game all day!

A lot of these "truck tests" come down to personal opinion. I agree with the OP. Let's see what these things are like with 1/4 million miles on them.

There's only one of these trucks with a proven track record of being able to routinely go 250,000 miles and up with no major engine problems. It's also the only one still using basically the same engine since 1989. How many different diesels have GM and Ford run through since then?

The DT444 (7.3L PSD) was a good engine that could routinely rack up high mileage. Now what came after it........

And yes, Dodge has been using the Cummins ISB (very successfully) for a very long time. Mind you the truck around it hasn't been much to write home about at times.... At least in my opinion.

My little jab there was at the GM guy, not the Dodge boys.

The "GM guy" that has two Fords in his garage?.. Me?

Keep trying, friend. Keep trying...

However, history does seem to be repeating itself here.

You always stick up for/root for GM "friend". Wouldn't matter if you had 15 Lamborghini's in your garage. You are still a GM guy.

Nothing wrong with that BTW. But when you make statements like you did in your first post, just expect replies like I made in mine.

Dude... Let's be honest. Your apparent obsession with what I write isn't funny. In a way, it is almost creepy.

I didn't say a word about who didn't win. You assumed it, and then proceeded to made a big deal out of it.

How about giving it a rest?

OK, let's be honest. You are anything but unbiased, in fact most of the time I see you post is to take at jab at Ford or the BITOG Ford guys.

I'm a Ford guy and so is OVERK1LL, the difference between us and you is that we put our "bias" up front and don't make any bones about it. Bringing up those "two Fords" in your garage does nothing to conceal your bias, you're an open book, you're GM bias is apparent.
