Hello,
I have to update this over a few days as I'm fairly tired and have a lot of stuff to do, but here it goes.
Purchased a 2011 BMW 135i, lemans blue with lemon interior. 6MT, N55 twin spool turbo, DI. Hot little car. Picked it up at the BMW Performance Center in SC for no charge, and got a mini driving school where they taught a lot about technique and practically how the safety systems all work.
Took it home via the Blue Ridge parkway and skyline drive. First tank, averaging 38 MPH was 26.1, the next 150 miles, which is as far as I've compiled so far was 32.6 including a good deal of highway use. So far no driving has been optimized for economy, given continuously changing speeds and gears as part of breakin. However, no speeds over 70 or throttle over 3/4. The EPA rating is 19/28 for this car, but I'm seeing it as a 25-26 MPG vehicle in my all local roads commute (no highway) and 30-32 on dedicated highway use.
Shifting is smooth as silk, the car is really quiet top up or down, despite being a convertible, and couldn't be happier. Something about the MT lets me drive the car lighter, when desired, then I was able to with the DCT version (which is only rated 25 hwy I believe...).
Couldnt be happier!
