98 F150, 210K, 4.6L W/headers, chip, exhaust and K+N. Mobil 1 10w30 since new. Occasional Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 in it. 5000 mile changes on oil and 4 qts Mobil 1 ATF at most oil changes.

Uses no oil between changes and it's still amber in color.

Camshafts and under the valve covers look like brand new.

I absolutely abuse this truck. Plus the chip raises the redline, so many shifts occur well above the stock redline.

Oil changes every 5-6k I'd say on any cheap dino.
One air filter change ever.

Every other fluid or plug is stock. How that truck runs as good as it does is beyond me.

Chief - this mileage is impressive - you are the mileage champ so far. How about a few more details?

Have you owned the truck since new?

What sort of major repairs have you had to do?

Is it 4x4 or 2wd?

What engine? Has the engine had any major repairs?

My father's T-type was just about to hit 200K before it was sold. 15w40 for at least half of that time. It looks like the overwhelming majority are running a 30wt or higher.

In the sig, 93 850 has ~270K miles on it. Runs great, paint looks a bit bad. It was on Mobil 1 10w30 since new till 200K miles. Then it switched to Mobil 1 10w40 HM because of weak valve stem seals.

However, the 04 is the one to keep an eye on. That is my personal car that gets a LOT of attention from me. I also do a daily commute of 190 miles a day. I bought it 16 months ago with 50K miles on it. Started it off on Mobil 1 0w40, switched to GC, now I am back to Mobil 1 0w40. Mileage doesn't bother me, it's time that bothers me. Time seems to be what is getting to my 93, not the mileage.

Great thread. I worked at a diesel performance shop as a salesman. A customer called in and wanted a new turbo set up. So I asked how many miles do you have and he kindly stated 400,000. I was awstruck. I said you have 400,000 miles on your diesel truck. He said "no". That's the turbo. The truck has 800,000. Diesel ran on plain shell rotella T.

If you want it to make it to 500K you better change to 0w10 or those engines are going to drop like a fly.

My Dad's 98 Blazer just turned over 230,000 miles. Had bulk Pennzoil 5w30 from a local shop till about 120,000 miles, then whatever's on sale conventional 5w30/10w-30 till now. Unfortunately it's on it's 3rd transmission! The suspension is getting pretty weak even with newer shocks as it's been driven extensively on rough dirt roads. The headliner is a couple big bumps away from coming down and being ripped out. It'll be kept until it blows up as a snow/tow/all purpose beater rig. When it's close to needing it's last rights, I plan on bricking the gas pedal with no oil or coolant and watch some rods fly! My favorite junk yard said I could do it there and they'd part out the remaining salvageable parts.

It may already be to late.

A few weeks ago I had to replace the distributor rotor on the Toyota. Who knows what will be next.

The Cavalier is not much better. I had to replace the serpentine belt and noticed the idle/tension roller wasn't running straight. I had to spray it with gun action cleaner and then spray it with RemOil. Who would have thought

Engine is original never touched
on the 3rd Transmission and now it seems the axle seals are leaking probably need new axle's problem is can't find a good axle anywhere
This car for the last 11 years hauled very heavy tools and parts.
engine is still quiet and does not burn oil leaks a bit but don't burn started using high mileage pennzoil 10w30 this year.
also 2 79 cadillac's Sedan De Ville's with the 425 over 300,000 one runs perfect the other needs a rebuild always on pennzoil 10w40 and a/c and purolator filters sometimes they even got fram not anymore but there was a time i used fram filters that was years ago
Also the one that needs the rebuild is the one i was in college with and saw a number of street races... i was young and that car was fast in its day..

My Dad's 92 I6 Diesel Landcruiser had over 350,000 and running strong when we sold it two years ago. Man, I wish we still had that rig. It was awesome!

225K miles on my '93 Sentra, using M1 since new (except for a few flirtations with other brands here and there). OCI between 3 and 5,000 miles. Also, Mobil 1 ATF, changed (d&f) about every 30K or so. Neither the engine nor trans has ever been opened up and it runs flawlessly. I'm a big believer in synthetics.

I have 265,000 miles on my 2000 GMC Sierra 2WD, 1500 with a 4.8L Vortec engine. I used M1 syn or Valvoline Synpower with 4K-6K OCIs for the first 200,000 miles.
For the next 50,000 miles I used a mix of whatever dino I would get on sale (Shell, Halvoline, Citgo, ST, Phillips TropArtic blend) with 3K OCIs.
This summer I just switched over to using GC and my mileage went up considerably. So I going to 7K OCIS with GC for the rest of its life with an occasional change of Mobil 1 High Mileage in the summers.
