My co-worker's Challenger. He got it brand new in 2008 and made it into a SuperBird. Done right. Started as a 6.1L Hemi, now a 528 cubic inch (8.65L) Gen 3 Hemi fed with a Paxton blower. His personal best is 224MPH at Bonneville. Cool dude.

And a slightly outdated article. Some mods happened since.

Crazy coincidence, I saw what might have been an actual Superbird yesterday in Charlotte NC. It might have been a kit car - but it was really cool to see though.

Also saw a Super Bee not long ago.

Poked the guy some more... He has a full alcohol engine built for this thing, procharged too. Eventually it will go in.
But as of the current setup - this 528cu.i. is swallowing 48PSi from the blower...
He said he used the 6.1L Hemi block because it's stronger than the 6.4L Hemi. Also mentioned that the Hellcat engine is based on the ol' 6.1L as well for that exact reason.

He shared some stories, apparently has quite a bit of cars from the pink-slip drag racing days. So there may be more juicy cars of his posted here, if he lets me pay a visit to his barn. We're talking a couple Shelby GT350 fastbacks that he pulled from the same barn, and so on and so forth... Stay tuned.
