It needs Valvoline Restore and Protect to fix it right up….thats the miracle cure these days, isn’t it?
Being serious, it might not hurt to run that and see how it does…
It's in perfectly functional shape otherwise, no point in getting rid of it just based on age.
I did get my money's worth for sure, especially since I bought it used for 4k and got paid 3.6k by the insurance when it got scratched up on the side. On the miles per $ spent I'm beating records on this van.
Sounds like this van has served you well and has been quite cheap to own.
I don't think you did any terminal harm running it low on oil, but approaching 300K it's into the winter of its life anyway.
Time to look for another while this one is still happily doing its daily duties.
Best time to look for a car is before you need one urgently.
I’ve seen an engine go on for many more years after something like this. If it stopped knocking and is still running then don’t worry about it. An oil change wouldn’t fix rod knock for example. Well, hang on, I mean do worry about it cause that is what got you here. But I mean don’t worry about any damage. If it’s already done, it’s already done. When it goes, it goes.
