I like the silver too. Beautiful cars even 12 years old. 156mph drag limited (07-08), German Bilstein suspended, FWD 4-door sleepers.

I REALLY like your car!! I've never even heard of these till now. They must be rare. Your car pulled to 130 like it was nothing!!

Thanks again I don't suggest unless the road and car are setup for that kind of speed. Even under ideal situations I had to let up twice due to unexpected obstacles. The LaCrosse Super is the most rare, followed by the GXP, I believe only 15k made from 05-08. You do have to watch out for the transmission on these cars, but keep up on filter and fluid changes. You can find quite a few on Craigslist in the 6-10k range. My favorite feature? The V8 & and the heads up display. Okay that's two features.

Is the transmission the 4T80-E? Or the 4T65? I owned a couple of Northstar Cadillacs with the 4T80-E and that transmission was nearly indestructable, at least behind a Northstar. The 5.3L puts out more low-end grunt, though, so it could stress it more. Nice car!

Thank you! It's the 4T65E-HD, the same as the one used in boosted v6s. It does have a few extra hardened parts and a special 3 point engine mount system, but 323 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm is a substantial amount of thrust. I try to always keep my transmission temps below 185f, 200f if I'm really getting on it. Regular fluid checks, pan drops, filter change, and fresh M1 Dexron VI. It seems to really do well, but as you can see I just don't drop the hammer and light em up. I always try to feather it for best acceleration.

Make sure to add the better round donut magnets to the filter and pan on 4t65e as in the GM TSB if not already. Eliminates future solenoid issues. That stock magnet was not much. What do you use on your suede seats. I have been using Surf City Leather Voodoo on mine, but mostly for the smell. Gives the interior that new car smell.

Nice hot take there, but not true. Seems that most of that cost was maintenance. The rest was worn out parts - something you need to do on a higher-mileage car regardless of make or model.

Brakes, tires, tuneup, and struts were about $2400 of that, and all in the first 6 months of ownership. I went for all high end components and OE Bilstein struts which were $250 alone for each rear corner. I used it for business as well, so I didn't have the time or patience to do some of the work myself. 100/mo. is still a lot cheaper than any car payment.

3" downpipe installed and dyno tuned at ZZPerformance. 250whp on their Mustang dyno, which tends to be on the conservative side. 172,900 miles on the motor, and loving this Belgium Castrol 0W30.
