Bike has 18,009 miles at UOA and oil was changed. OAI completed UOA.
Still using FP Plus and Bio Plus fuel additive 50/50. OEM oil and air filters.
Fuel dropped after spark plugs were replaced and air filter was cleaned. I was glad to see that.
OAI flagged visc. with a 1.
I think everything is fine with this engine.


Any comments or suggestions?

Every thing is VERY fine. I would add the Amsoil Eao oil filter next go around. There is some solid evidence that because of the flow of the filter....the engine never sees unfiltered oil because the bypass never kicks on!

That's the best used oil analysis I've seen the Amsoil bike oil turn in. It looks like they may have been tweaking the formula, from the additive pack number comparisons.

It's cold about everywhere these pages are read, and folks aren't checking out the motorcycle threads as much as they will in warmer weather. So hopefully this thread will revive in the spring for those wishing to use the Amsoil product in their Harleys.

You've got some good data there. You're even under the UA's for copper, which the group IV and V syns haven't typically been able to accomplish. Thanks for sharing...

That would be the page which would tell us the oil categories. One must wonder why Amsoil doesn't want us to see that. Could it be... hmmm...

I think the all the new changes to cam area may have a lot to do with the lower copper numbers.

I was suprised of the low posts in this thread. I have seen statements about not enough Harley data. I am just trying to help out with data and plus it's very interesting to see what is going on inside an engine.

It's 12 degrees F outside here as I type this (Virginia).

So thinking of my motorcycle is sort of sad at the moment (because I can't get out and ride it right now without checking my brain at the door).

Ya, it's always a long winter for me too. It was 9 degrees when I got up it is now 19.

There were several numbers that were odd with that sample. That was the first sample that was sent to the new OAI, which I believe is Polaris. Everything seemed to straighten out in the last sample though.

I’m curious. In general, what’s the crankcase capacity of a Harley?

My '07 Softail holds 3 quarts in the engine case and one quart each in the transmission & primary.
