Odometer reads 165k miles. The first 120k miles were on conventional 5w30 at 5k intervals: Chevron Supreme, PYB, Castrol GTX. The next 45k were on synthetic 5w30 at 7-8k intervals, mostly M1 vanilla. Used standard oil filters such as WIX, Denso, Motorcraft, etc. Did this job because the valve cover gaskets were seeping oil onto the cylinder head and into the spark plug wells. It's been like that for about 6 months and the smell kept getting stronger, couldn't put it off any longer. Job took about 3 hours because I did some cleaning and other distractions but now I can do it in about 1 hour or less. Didn't get any pics of the cover itself but it's pretty clean and unremarkable. The perimeter gasket was stiff but not brittle, while the middle gasket (for the spark plug holes) nearly crumbled in my hands and was very difficult to remove from the cover. Replaced the factory PCV valve while the cover was off because it is a pain to access on the engine. Enjoy.
