2006 Acura TSX AC compressor

Our beloved 2006 Acura TSX will 244,000 miles stopped blowing cold air. I hooked up the charge nozzle; the needle was in the red. I figured compressor, but knew it was over my pay grade.
The great shop around the corner, Scottys Automotive, took it yesterday around noon, Dave called me around 3 and swapped the compressor; I picked it up around 10 this morning. About $500 labor and $500 for the compressor; $1,176 out the door. Not cheap, but the work is good and Dave always takes my cars right in even though the shop is typically booked at least a week out. And they give me a ride home.

Oh yeah I think it hit 80* today.

It's hard to find a reliable mechanic, $1100 not bad nowadays for that amount of work.

100%. Dave, the owner, has even offered to lend me tools... He has a great team; they knock off at noon on Fridays. Always busy. I always tip simply because I appreciate them.
