can i hear some thoughts on this newest sample?

oh btw i dont know if this means anything or not. but the second column of numbers (3500 miles on oil) had a 200 mile trip in heavy rain with a exposed air filter.this is a picture of the exposed air filter.

The bike on the 2nd UOA was also redlined many, many times during that rain trip. I didnt know if any of this info was important or not.. thanks...

manganese at 24?
now where did that come from?

the spike in aluminum is problem from the redlined runs and some clutch hub/basket/pressure plate wear.

Your first report is what got me to run that mixture in my V2K, and it's still in there. Sure does shift better than the Rotella, Rotella synthetic, Rotella and Synthetic Blend, or Delo. Looking at your TBN and viscosity, I'm going to leave mine in all winter.

hey Titan, i know what you mean about the Rotella. Im using Rotella synthetic 5w40 & the first thing i noticed was increased stiffness in downshifting from 4th to 3rd. I didnt order any Amsoil yet so the Rotella is still in there until i get some. I was shocked at how @ 3500 miles the amsoil had a ton of additives left and the TBN was Great! and test was under very hard conditions!

Arkainzeye...my GUESS is that the engine is fine with 40 weight, but, that transmission sure seems to like it thicker...therefore the smoother feeling shifts with the thicker mixture. Just a guess. That Amsoil mix sure seems great for this bike, thanks for the recommendation!

yeha i read where the VN2000 has Straight cut transmission gears for strength, and this is probably why the transmission is noise (clunk clunk) and runs nicer on that mixture. well i guess i will be placing a new order for amsoil again. i was hoping to get a cheaper way around motorcycle oil changes. but i dont want to suffer with poorer quailty shifting.
