2003 Toyota Tundra 8cyl Filter Question

Does anyone know the part numbers for the regular and oversized filters offered by Mobil 1 and K&N for this Truck.
Any known problems with Mobil 1 or K&N Oil Filters for this Truck?

The K&N 3001 should work. Its bypass valve is set 3 psi higher than the normal one - I really don't see that as a problem. In fact I think it's a good thing.

Standard Mobil 1 filter is the M1-102. For an oversized filter, use one for an older Ford V8. The M1-102 does have a bypass valve setting closer to Toyota's...Ford's is way low for Toyota (and just right for Ford).

Why not use the Toyota 90915-20004 filter? That's the Toyota/Lexus filter that seems to be a bit better than the stock 90915-YZZB5 filter. I know, it's small, but does size matter...here?

If Fleetguard makes a filter with the Stratapore synthetic media for this truck (I'll try to find out if they do), I HIGHLY recommend you consider it.

Just crossreference the easy to xreference fram ford sizes with your source of the M1 or KN. On larger filters, you'll need to make sure there is enough room.

ph3614 standard (tundra filter size)
ph3600 longer (taurus base V6)
ph8a fatter (5.0 Mustang/landcruiser)
ph977a huge 2 quart filter(best for extended maintenance intervals when monitoring oil quality with analysis).

HP1002/M1102? are the stock sized.
The HP2009/M1209 are slightly longer.
The hp3001/m1301 are the fatter ones(used on older landcruisers).

Fleeguards website is cool. Allowing multiple filters and info to be added to a worksheet for comparison.
