I just had a co-worker backflush my heater core at work, and i topped off with generic yellow coolant, 5 year type.

The coolant is dark yellow, sort of like when you are really dehydrated and take a leak, it should be neon yellow in color. Should i drain the rad and refill with fresh yellow, or drain it, refill with water, and then drain again, possibly converting the 3.0 OHV to Green?

I am sorry for having to use the urine color equivlent, but i figured it was a fairly...basic way to get across the color.

I was in the USAF and at basic they had a handy little chart in the latrines...seriously.

Coolant is at color 7/8...should i worry about changing it?

End of the story, i had it backflushed, using a discount my company has with a local lube place (5 bucks off anything) due to not having a spot to do a complete coolant flush, the coolant was rather nasty, now it has greenish coolant in the engine. No sediment in the overflow tank.

What coolant formulation did they install in your car and is it compatible with your system (seals, gaskets, etc.)?

Multi vehicle type, i have a cast iron V6, so it will take conventional green, long life yellow, anything but dexcool.
