Lead Shoes Joined Mar 3, 2010 Messages 2,451 Nov 3, 2011 #4 Lubeguard red and after a pan drop and fill with Maxlife dex 3/4 made a world of difference in my 99 grand am before I sold it. Dex 4 replaced Dex3, kinda like SN oil replaces where SM oil was needed.

K Ken2 Joined Dec 2, 2002 Messages 6,402 Location Washington state Nov 3, 2011 #5 There is no Dexron 4. Dexron-VI replaced Dexron-III. There was a spec for Dexron-IV, but GM never put it into production. GM avoided the name "Dexron-V" sure that it would be confused with Ford's MerconV.
