2003 Grand Am Trans fluid

I have a 2003 Grand Am. Manual calls for Dexron III trans fluid. It's ok to use Dexron VI in it correct?

Dexron VI 100%. Add a bottle of Lubeguard red for good measure, it helps.

Lubeguard red and after a pan drop and fill with Maxlife dex 3/4 made a world of difference in my 99 grand am before I sold it.

Dex 4 replaced Dex3, kinda like SN oil replaces where SM oil was needed.

There is no Dexron 4. Dexron-VI replaced Dexron-III.

There was a spec for Dexron-IV, but GM never put it into production. GM avoided the name "Dexron-V" sure that it would be confused with Ford's MerconV.
