Yeah I remember reading that on the Escape forums. I do think the early formulations were problematic in the older transmissions. The last change on hers was at around 90k (need to get out there and get it changed) and I know it was Mercon V.

Yeah - I think a lot of those issues are with the 1.6 and I told her to go with the 2.0. She's looking at a 14 so I hope they have the kinks worked out by the summer. We've both driven it and it's a really nice vehicle.
Anyway - enjoy yours - if you treat it right it will last you a good while.
