2003 Camry Brake Problems

My Dad complained about his Camry making some grinding noise from the back (disk) brakes, so after 9 years and 70k miles we figured it was time to change the brakes.

Installed new rotors and pads and when we went to turn the rotors by hand we could hear the grinding still. I adjusted the star wheel on the parking brake all the way in but still have the same problem.

Do we need to adjust the parking brake from the inside of the car? I see in the Haynes manual there is an adjustment if you take off the console.

I've never heard that on my 02. Still on original rotors just pads. May be a wheel bearing, test it.

Its the same sound on both sides!

I could also see the parking brake marks on the inside of the new rotors after manually turning them
