FP60 was used in maintenance dose at the rate of 1 oz/5-gal. OEM Air filter was last changed ~ 30k miles with OEM. Oil was drained at this sample & refilled with Red Line 5W20 and AMSOIL Ea oil filter.

The lead is going down but that still doesn't make me feel too good. There are fewer short trips on this OCI so the TBN & FP is slightly higher, and the additive pack doesn't appear to be as depleted compared to previous OCI. The viscosity is slightly higher, but is this a good thing? In any case, this oil doesn't seem to be a good fit in this application.

I'm hoping the RL does better. What interval do you think I should run? I was thinking another 7500 miles. It will consist of even more 25 miles drives to the house.

An interesting note is that I started using FP60 when I started GC. However, I'm not overdosing per the directions. Any correlation?

Yeah the Lead/Copper seem high especially for a honda v6, I cant wait to see the UOA with redline/amsoil filter combo.

Your lead definitely spiked with the GC/FP combo. I wonder why? The vis looks OK but your engine may just like the lower viscosity! Solids may be a bit high.

I tried your links to the Amsoil 0W-30 runs and they didn't work right.

EDIT - fixed an idiot typo - meant FP, typed LC

Thanks for pointing out the links not working. I forgot about changing them since the old ones don't work anymore.

It was GC/FP60 combo & not LC. Blackstone typed BG+ on the report but I clearly wrote FP60 on the paper slip but maybe the paper wasn't very readable in that area when they received it.

Blackstone has sent this to Terry.

Blackstone's comments were: "The trace of gas we found in the oil didn't cause the higher lead and no other contaminant was present in the sample to cause excess wear either. Air and oil filtration, see silicon and insolubles, was adequate. Suggest 3500-mile oil change to reduce lead. Hopefully, wear improves."

I disagree with their conclusion of fuel dilution not causing wear. They blame it on a leaded additive.
Also, is the insolubles % 100% attributed to oil filtration?

OOps sorry - meant FP. Fixed it. Wasn't there a high lead with FP posted recently???

Pabs, honestly I have never seen a test result where LC or FP caused high Pb wear, any wear. The products are lubricious that solve, not just solvents.

This is issue is fuel and insolubles loading caused.
