2001 Silverado 1500 Front Diff Leak

Not a huge leak, but a drip forms on the bottom of the front diff after any extended drive. Appears to be coming from the passenger side seal. I'm not ready to tackle it any sooner than I have to at this point. If I keep it topped up then is there any major risk?
4x4 is engaged manually if it makes a difference.

My 05 has been leaking from the drivers axle seal for 5+ years now. Makes a decent size mess where it's always parked but it only needs topped up once a year at most. Used daily as a work truck. No noise from the front diff at all.

I was thinking I wouldn't need to top up more than once a year. I think it's been leaking a little for a while, but I think I overfilled a little when I replaced the fluid recently and that may have aggravated things.

I wouldn't worry about it. For the price of the repair I was told to not bother with it. The techs where I used to work as a service advisor never pushed the repair. Part of it may have been fear that the diff could have an issue shortly after the seal repair and they could be blamed, but they didn't seem to think it was worth a customer spending money on.

Thanks! I figure if I keep fluid topped up it should keep things healthy. It looks like a 'fun' project, but I fear I could run into other issues (or cause other issues). I can't imagine a leak like that getting tons worse... ?

It hasn't gotten any worse on mine. There may be less risk of something going wrong if you just leave it instead of attempting the fix.
