This is my second OA on this vehicle. First run on Amsoil, after running pennzoil. Total miles now are 89300. First column is 9305 on oil and second is 15835 on oil. About 1 Qt. was added and filter changed at 9305. Changed oil this sample.

I am thinking it turned out pretty good except maybey the lead. Pablo and TOOSLICK looked at the first OA, what do you think now?

How many month's was the 0w-30 in the vehicle? Just curious because my UOA from 0w-30 purchased last September shows a greatly reduce Magnesium # and lower visc.

Installed Amsoil on 2/01/05. First sample was taken on 8/04 and then sampled and changed on 12/30.

Lead does seem high, but this is your first run on synthetic. It's interesting that your lead was 32 ppm at 9K then at 16K it is 39. Sure it was diluted by the make-up oil, but still this points to either an event early in the run (leaded fuel, bearing streak) or plain old clean up. The other metals are so low I have some difficulty thinking this is pure bearing wear.

The oil looks to have held up well.

Indeed - time and driving style?

I noticed that you are from Virginia. Have you driven through points south, especially Georgia, and gassed up during this OCI?

I recall seeing many UOAs from the southeast U.S. in the year or so that I have been a BITOG member that have extremely high levels of lead. Yours isn't nearly as bad as we've seen in the past.

Could this be that leaded gas that we've been suspecting?
