I would say wrong. I did my Intrepid diff which has the same trans and diff as your car. After 100,000 miles the oil came out amazingly clean. The diff calls for regular 80W90 oil. I put back dino 80W90 from AutoZone. Has worked fine ever since.Then again it worked fine before. I only changed it because at 100,000 miles I thought it was time.
The diff does'nt require anything special or a heavier oil as you now have.
