2000 Silverado Power Steering Pump

Removed the power steering pump on a 2000 Silverado, 5.3L, LS.

After doing some research the correct part is part# 15909830 (power steering pump) and apparently I need to add the actuator kit with part#19168825.
Two designs pop up when using our vin# but I was finally able to determine the correct power steering pump for our truck.

There are two hoses that use spring clamps that I wanted to replace but found out that the hoses are not sold separately and in order to get those hoses I would have to purchase a complete complete power steering oil cooler.

Can I find these hoses online? If so, what are the part numbers to those hoses?

Also need to know if I really need to get the actuator kit?

The new pump comes with the actuator (pressure regulating valve) installed. Transfer the high-pressure u-pipe fitting from the old pump to the new pump.

If the cooler is still in good condition (no pinhole leaks from the metal tube) then the hoses can be replaced with 3/8" ID ATF hose. One end of the cooler is crimped on so cut that off first. Match new hose length to old hose and reinstall using hose clamps.

19168825 is to delete the EVO "Electronic Variable Orifice" if equipped, I don't think I've ever seen a GMT800 Pick-up have EVO.....Some early up-scale GMT800 SUV's did (Escalade/Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban/Yukon XL).

Not to be confused with late GMT400 pick-up's & SUV's that did have EVO.

I guess it would be a good idea to check for EVO.......The Solenoid base is cast iron & sticks out the back of the pump to form the 90 degree turn. And of course the solenoid itself with a electrical connector.

There is no electronic connector anywhere on the pump that I removed so I'm hoping that I don't need the "Power Steering Fluid Flow Control Valve Actuator Kit".

Anyone have the part number to the power steering fluid?

I run TES-295 ATF in GM power steering systems, Summit Racing has a good price for a gallon of Mobil Delvac 1 ATF.

We will also be replacing the rack and pinion.
We ordered a rack from Jorgen Automotive Corp.

Are we going to need new ring seals for the hoses that attach to the power steering pump and to the rack and pinion?

The rack will have them included for the rack end, I don't remember if the ones to the pump were with it but I want to say were not.
