Not really, It is most likely a clogged carb. Also check out the fuel line. Most saws have those

go to a Ford dealer and get Carburetor tune-up bottle cycle it into the carb and let it work for a day maybe two, never fails.
 
Open the gas tank again and see if the gas filter is still attached to the gas line. If it is, dump the fuel back out of your tank and blow it out with compressed air. Push the primer bulb several times and blow it out again. Repeat this three or four times, then put a little fresh fuel in and try to start it. Probably will start. If it doesn't, Poulan's of last few years are notorious for the coil going out after very, very little use.
