I have a 1998 Ford E-250 with a Dana 60, non-limited slip. Tag says 3.76 gear ratio. I looked at a lot of information online, and I think that the gist was that I should use synthetic 75w-140 if I had either limited slip or 4.10 gears. For an open 3.73 rear end, 80w-90. Is that right? I have some 80w-90, and I'd just as soon use that as go out and buy more gear oil.

I recently got this vehicle, and I don't know anything about the maintenance history. I'm just changing fluids to make sure everything's good.

I'd use the 75w140. I just changed the gear oil in my grandfathers 96' Cherokee with a Dana 35 and I used Mobil 1 75w140.
