1998 CBR 600 F3

My buddy gave me this motorcycle from a storage auction 2 years ago. It hadn't ran since 07 on the tag and it was wrecked at some point in time. I got a court(judge) appointed title on the motorcycle. After that, it was time to bring this bad boy back to life. I got my other buddy to help me rebuild the carburetors(4) for me to start with. I got $600 invested into the motorcycle but it is running now. This was my winter project

I will see if I can post a video of it coming back to life. I had a 1982 450 Honda nighthawk that set around for years. I got it started without rebuilding the two carbs. I really like small motors by Honda

When I get a fairing kit, I'm going to upgrade the turn signals into the side mirrors since they already have the holes.

Looks good! I loved my 1998 CBR900RR, and it was one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned. Probably the fastest too.

Replace the tires. Old rubber is very unreliable, and if a tire blows you most likely will loose control. A recent thread here on BITOG said some nice things about Bridgestone T30 EVO motorcycle tires.

My buddy works at house of Kawasaki, he's got a set of soft beginner tires for me.


More pics of part replacement. The brain was missing(you can tell in pic above of the motorcycle). No key left either, so I bought a new ignition switch and one for the tank. But, I forgot about the one for your helmet.

After tyres brakes and all fluids and filters, and probably a new chain too, I'd Yoshimura and rejet it and get some larger and smaller pulleys to experiment with.
Thought about having it naked? Just a tank and lights? That would look cool.

Brakes need to be tested,all fluids have been changed,K&N oil filter with Castrol 4T 10w-40, and the K&N air filter already installed, has been cleaned/recharged. I do want another chain though.
