19” off road tires?

I’m looking at good off road tires for a potential new to me vehicle. It has 19” wheels, oe fit is 255/50-19.

I might look for 17 or 18” if the rotors fit. But ideally I’d just get BFG AT KO2 or KO3. There really isn’t much of a need for any other discussion.

But I’m seeing that nobody seems to make AT tires in 19”.

Any idea why?
Definitely need to switch to smaller wheels if you plan to go off-road. The less sidewall the greater the chance of catastrophic loss of pressure.

If you go to tiresize.com they have a bunch of tools if you put your tire size in - you can click on "alternate wheel size"

Your 255/50-19 is a 29 inch diameter

A common alternate size in 18 inch would be 255/55/18

In 17 inch would be 255/60-17

Either are available in KO2 / KO3 I think?
255/55 is common on BMW X5 (older ones) so there are more options, but I don’t think anything like KO2/3.
If 18, 265/60 R18 for the win. Common size on 4Runner. Plenty of options.

Ah ok.
I think you might still do 17”. Depending on year I would say. Probably some 17” from other MB’s can fit.
Yes I know there are some steelies from work trucks and vans that will fit and are pretty cheap. Will be great quality.

Yeah, I know how to find equivalent sizes. The reason I posted was really that I found it curious that they do 15. 16, 17, 18, 20, and some larger. Just a complete skip over 19. Just struck me as odd.

It would be ideal to know what sizes are most common, so highest likelihood of more options for a longer time. Even if speedometer is a bit off. So long as load factor is ok…

BFG AT is simply my go to since 1998. So they’re an ideal choice. 17 is more ideal because of commercial vehicle fitment.
