And so another BITOG affliction has an effected me.
But I will try to only cut used filters. I do have at least eight used ones since we purchased two new vehicles a year ago. I have been saving the filters for when I could splurge a little.
I bought the $18 Minlen from Amazon after reading all the threads I could find and Amazon reviews. A Bitoger NOTEVIL81 posted it was well built and well priced.
My son bought a new Rav4 in '18 with a canister filter and was amazed at all the bits of metal in the pleats.
I hope you gentlemen will 12 step me IF I need any intervention!

Guess I made a mistake in my giddiness of going to cut open some filters. Haven't felt like that since the Castrol Gold bottle AAP sell off.
That is a great looking twin beam filter cutter, can it do small filters as well?
It seems pretty hefty and got a good review here and limited handful of five stars on Amazon. I felt it looked better than the pricey ones and a Bitoger mentioned the beams keep the cutting blade square to the filter.
I have A02 Hondas and 15AA Subaru filters to cut. That's as small as I'll have.

What have you found in the oil filter specifically on the Kona? Is every oil change the same as the last?
Nothing, really. Same with the Tucson I had prior to my Mazda. An Occasional sparkle of metal shaving but very few and far between. No sludge, but an occasional piece or two of small black hard carbon. The KONA was 1.6T the Tucson jus the 2.4L. 5K intervals and each filter was the same.
