#175 wedge bulb... no one carries it?

Last year I replaced all of the interior bulbs in the Sedona with LEDs. I used cheap eBay 'pure white' bulbs and, surprisingly, they are still working trouble free. The two main map light bulbs were what a cross-reference calls a 175 bulb. This bulb is a T10 wedge bulb, using the same base as a 194/168/2825 bulb, except the 175 bulb is a 10 watt bulb instead of a ~3.5-5 watt bulb like the others it shares a base with. Oddly however, this 175 bulb cannot be found anywhere. Sylvania doesn't list a part number, but says that it is the correct bulb for my application. Again, it shares the same wedge base, except the 'bulb' portion is a little bigger, and it puts out a lot more light. Any idea where I might get this bulb? The reason I ask is that I want to use them for my sidemarkers because they are so much brighter. LEDs would not work well in this particular sidemarker housing.

Rockauto lists a Wagner 175 as the high mount brake light bulb for 1991-95 Saturns. Pricy at 3.68 each. The alternate/OEM part numbers are #175L, BP175, BP175L.

If I remember right, those are in the trunk lid and easy to access. Maybe a trip to pick-a-part is in your future.

Look at home depot of all places in the low voltage landscape lighting section. They have wedge base bulbs in bigger wattages.

Who knew! I'll check that out. I'm assuming most landscape lighting is more than 10w though. That's the most I'd wanna go with stock wiring and sockets, not to mention a smallish housing.

An LED produces a lot of light at less power input. Rating an LED in "watts" doesn't mean much. Superbright gives "lumen" ratings and compares them to the filament versions, by type.

The "L" stands for "long life" which you might want in a PIMA to get to location. It probably means simply a 15 volt bulb which, if not a halogen, should last longer than one designed to run on 13.8. Of course, the LED, if well made, should last a long time and on off cycles like brake lights don't bother them.
