A terrible detail.

I was getting the work car washed yesterday and while waiting inside for them to clean the interior of the car, I decided to entertain myself by watching a guy do an exterior detail. What made me cringe was seeing him use a DA polisher on full speed to get someone's brand new black Audi cleaned at the same time as waxing. The car had dust and a little bit of debris on it, and he went right over all of it without washing it first. OUCH!

If I can't do it myself I call a buddy of mine who does high end details. He takes around 6-8 hours a car. For the time he takes, at 200 is worth it. Looks better than showroom.

I get the detail packages off Groupon ($75). After my wife and kids get through with my cars any use of a buffer on them is welcome. I'll be taking the wifes lexus in with 200k on it for the detail in a few weeks. Then it will go straight to the trade in booth.

^ Not me but someone's poor Audi was getting tortured. Sad thing is, the person probably wont even notice the [censored] job.

Wow. Almost like you are kidding but I know this junk happens. I may abuse my older cars with a little exterior neglect but that is pure intentional damage.

After a $75 detail, trading it in is a wise decision. Some of the most damaged vehicles I have done in my shop were the result of being "detailed" cheaply by some so called "detailer" via Groupon.

I almost ran out and covered the cars in soap while it was raining last night. But then I realized water falling from the sky is not a natural phenomenon and should not subject myself to it.
