Who actually makes the Honda OEM filter 15400-PLM-A02? Rumors are it's Fram. Is that true though?

Yes but they’re great filters. Fram makes a lot of OEM filters including Subaru and even bentley
Unless someone works at the Fram facility and can show proof, who knows ? Or someone that works at Honda and sends orders to Fram to produce their next batch (granted, silly logistics like that will already be sorted out vs someone sending an order or forgetting to send an order).
Yes, it's Fram. It is similar to the PH7317
I’d say it’s closer to the tough guard
From a manufacturing standpoint, it's silly to make a filter that varies at all from either a PH7317 or TG7317. I presume people have compared all (3) side by side though and there clearly are differences ?

The A02 is made by FRAM. They were marked Honeywell when Honeywell owned Fram.
I am one of the ones that has compared them. I agree it’s closest to the ToughGuard. It has one extra pleat than a TG but it is taken up by a metal seam clamp not seem on the EG or TG.
Jay/MotorKing who was with Fram prior to Trico has said that the media is unique and stated an efficiency which agreed with the Amsoil test that included the A02. But was unable to go into further detail.
