Wife's Ody is giving some intermittent hard starts. Sometimes it fires up right away. Other times it cranks for a second or two b4 firing up.

Battery is a year old Interstate lead acid 24F (Feb '22). Alternator is putting out 14V. I threw the battery on the trickle charger the other night. It charges at 1.5A. It reported fully charged in about an hour. Checked the electrolyte level in the battery - all cells full. No corrosion - tight clean terminal connections with lithium grease covering them.

She drives short distances less than 20 miles a couple times a day. It is hot out. Not really sure what is going on.

Does it take longer than that to start? Those are typical J-Series starts.

I don't remember why I recorded those videos, some discussion I had with someone ages ago, just never deleted them from YT.

When it hesitates yes it takes longer than that. Otherwise it fires up fine.

It could just be a fluke. I am not going to worry about it. I was just curious if anyone knew anything.

My neon did this. Then one day after various errands it failed to start in a grocery store. The wiring harness shorted the fuel pump.
