"We found a little more lead in this sample than expected, but we doubt the 9 ppm that turned up in your oil will cause any lost sleep. Lead comes from bearings, which is the very heart of your engine. It would be normal at 5 ppm in this sample. We don't think the 7,500 miles you've put on this oil are the cause of the above average lead. It could be high due to a particle streak though the bearings, which is a temporary thing. This was Mobil 1 10W/30 oil with no gas or engine coolant in it. The TBN was 3.9, which is okay. Try 8,000 miles next time.

"I'd say that this is pretty good. The lead seems to be at 4 PPM in the last 3,750 mile oil samples so 7,500 miles should be at 8 PPM, but I guess 9 is ok. I'll start another 7,500 mile test at 90,000 miles to 97,500 miles & check for lead again.
Mind you that this motor sees near redline action up to 25 minutes at a time along with lots of cornering loads. This stuff really works. I'm sticking to 7,500 mile oil changes with Mobil 1 10W-30 SuperSyn & K&N HP-1010 oil filters from here on. "
