$10,000 Car...

Just what it says. If someone gave you $10,000 to spend on a car what would it be.

Does not have to be reliable or practical.

Anything from a 1967 Ford Fairlane 390 to a Ratty C4 Corvette to a slightly used Toyota Corolla.

PS My choice would be either 2000 Subaru 2.5RS or 1993 Mazda RX-7/R1 depending on whether it was a Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde day.

Short wheelbase diesel van with 4x4, detroit lockers, overdrive and a snow plow. I'd probably have to buy a used Utilities van or make it for that price. I'd go Cummins or Cat power, I don't need one of those International tractor engines under the hood.

another old Volvo

find a good used RWD one - 240, 7XX or 9XX

4 cylinder red (iron) block - turbo if you want speed and higher maintenance

spend less than 4 or 5K, use the rest to bring it up to 2004

'69 Chevelle. Should be able to get a decent one for under that and then start a mild prostreet project out of it. Would end up being more than $10K in the end

You can find nice first gens around here for about 10k, as long as you don't want one of the rare models (you aren't going to find a conv. or an RS/SS or a 396SS for 10k).

I agree. Those things are like bulletproof. I've known people who have 600,000 miles on their Toyota and they still run fine. I've found a certified one (about 1-3 years old) for $10,000 at a local Toyota dealer recently.

Hmmm, that's a tough question.

I've always wanted a 'vette - early 80's, before they got ugly.

I'd have to pass that up for a '74 Hurst Olds with t-tops.

Depends on what age I would be. If I was still young, I'd find a 79 Trans AM, 6.6L T/A engine. Now that I'm older, I can't believe I'm saying this..........but probably a 01 year or so 2 door Civic.
