Just got an oil change with the Mobil 7500 (figured give it a shot) and the guy told me he accidentally poured an extra 1/4 of a quart in. He told me it won't hurt the engine any, is this true or will it hurt my engine? I've driven it around town this morning and nothing is different but want to be sure I don't need to go back and get it all drained out and waste more of my day off.

Absolutely no big deal. Most engines can take almsost an entire quart over what they are supposed to, w/o any issues. Just drive it like you normally would, and don't give it another thought!

ummm its never recomended to over fill ... because of seals etc etc .. if i was... i would suck it up from engine ... or drain :)

This gets brought up every few months,no it will not hurt a thing,
i do 1/4 qt over every time i do a OC and haven't lost a seal or
an engine yet,now 1 to 2 qt's over yea you'd have a problem i'd think.

I guess at least they were honest. Most of the time they overfill I bet they never even tell the customer because they know the odds of an extra 1/4 quart causing any engine maladies are slim to none.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than .25 qt extra oil hurting your engine! So buy a ticket...

Alot of TTZ guys just pour the entire 5 quarts in (instead of the 4 1/2) and never have an issue. I too have done that many a time and never had a problem.

Relaxs people 1/4 is nothing heck some people purposefuly over fill by as much as a quart if they a going to be pulling some serious g's on track day!
