I wonder what will happen at Kroger when gas is $.99 and you have points for $1.00 off??? Will they pay you to pump it?

I paid $1.40/gal for regular a couple of days ago. Not sure what it is now. Ironically I'm now driving less than ever now that gas is cheap.

Don't forget oil from Iran flowing to global market. We need gas 50¢ a gallon.

Paid $1.399 to fill one and $1.419 to fill the other.
These are nice prices and will likely remain quite low for some years to come.
OPEC has once again destroyed its own margins, the last time being in 1999.
This time, there's a huge Canadian and American enhanced recovery industry to kick in at a trigger price of around $60/bbl.
For better or ill, we should see cheap fuel for years to come.

My biggest concern is, when gas is so cheap there is no incentive to build/buy fuel efficient cars. In the end, people remain wasteful and the environment suffers.

I remember 50 cents a gallon in about 1975 and everyone was complaining about the high price because it was about half that in 1970. Now the gas tax is from about 26 to 70 cents a gallon depending on what state.

Last year/quarter sale of cars went down while CUV/SUV/truck went up.
