09 LX570 Gear oil

Looking for a good sub for toyota 75w85 liquid gold gear oil for my LX 570, for the front rear and center diffs. I have heard that GL5 is no good for the center, and 75w90 is fine for the front and rear. Many use Redline 75w85.

Does HPL have a solution for this vehicle? Who is the guy from HPL on this forum?

What does your owners manual state as the fluid requirement for the center diff or transfer case?

I use Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 or -110 in my Tundra differentials that spec 75W-85, but absolutely would not hesitate to use HPL next time.

Based on the owners manual online at Lexus, the transfer case uses oil type “Gear oil API GL-5” with recommended viscosity of 75W-90.

I will also add that the flexible bags are much easier and faster to use than the standard quart bottle.

As with nearly everything, how deep is your pocketbook? I settled with Valvoline as it was the lowest price name brand 75w90.

I have used Valvoline for years, but just trying to get a consensus on what other have used in this type of vehicle. Toyotas are very new to me. I am not going to be paying 60 bucks a quart for Toyota 75w85. And if I have to give up that much, I would rather give it to HPL or Amsoil or Redline.

Valvoline is good stuff. Toyotas usually aren't picky with fluids, and differentials usually aren't picky, either

M1 is on sale on Amazon for less than 9 bucks a quart. Might go that route just for $$. Cant see anyone thinking M1 gear oil is substandard.

evidently in the later years, special toyota juice is needed for the center diff, but at least the 09, requires GL5 gear oil.

The owners manual for 2009 LX570 on lexus website has that info as well, gear oil GL-5 75W-90.

Transfer case changed later and uses different ($$) fluid.

75w90 GL-5 is what is speced for the T-case. Check your Owners Manual.

I'm running 75w90 GL-5 in the front and rear diffs, and T-case of an SUV which was built on the same assembly line as your LX.

I use and am pleased with Redline in my vehicles. Have lots of experience with it in those, and in professional racing.

That's what I thought. IIRC circa '14 with the Gen 2.5 Tundra they started calling out the single weight? 75W? I think

I used the Amsoil MTF in a '15 Tundra and the owner claims it really does go into 4hi more readily (something I read online but didn't believe)

Even so, you hear plenty of anecdotal claims that a Toyota dealer will just pump 75W90 in there and call it good
