'07 Town and Country - need chrome wheels.

So, I have to keep someone else happy on this one...

I need to get a set of chrome wheels for the '07 Town and Country. Right now, it has the factory aluminum wheels and by the look of the valve stems, it has TPMS valves on it.

Can I use late 3rd or earlier 4th generation T&C wheels on it... or is the stem opening for the TPMS valve a different size and shape than a standard rubber stem?

What was the first year for TPMS on the T&C?
This is my first vehicle with TPMS... so there's a bit for me to learn.

Or you can take the TPMs and mount them to a pipe with a shredder fitting on it. Fill it to proper pressure and hide it in the vehicle somewhere where no one will see it and possibly think it is some kind of dangerous device.

The 4th generation brakes are larger than the 3rd generation brakes, so some 3rd generation wheels don't work. Earlier 4th generation wheels should work fine; I do not know for a fact that the TPMS sensors would swap across to earlier wheels, but I suspect they would. I believe that 2007 was the first year for TPMS across the board on the Chrysler vans. The 2006 Grand Caravan we have at work does not have TPMS.

Check out the factory "chrome clad" wheels for the 2005-2007 T&C. They would match the style of your current wheels because they're the same wheel...with a chromed plastic cap adhered to the front.

I think you would want a flat surface on at least one wall of the containment to make mounting the TPMs easy, and the wall thickness should be thick enough to prevent any leaks. I have some rectangular aluminum tubing with 1/8 wall that would work well.

Also some inspection stations might not pass it, but most will pass a vehicle if it does not throw a code on the vehicles computer.
