06 Ford Focus commuter

I am at 7k and the oil is right at the full mark. The oil seems darker than the Motorcraft 5w20 that was in it before this. Can anyone that has used M1 OW20 EP confirm that it is a little darker colored? It doesn't look dirty, just darker.

I was thinking of running this to about 8,000 and do a UOA to see if I can safely run 10K or more on the next change. Sound reasonable?

You can safely do well over 10K. If the engine has been running MC oil, then the M1 0-20 is no doubt doing some cleaning. My engines use no oil in an OC and by the dip stick never gets black, just a dark amber color.
