When you turn the ignition to the start position, the engine will not crank. The security light on the dash comes on when you first turn the key on, but then goes away. The moment you try to start the engine, the security light flashes. Unfortunately, the vehicle doesn't have a spare programmed key to try out.
The transmission neutral safety switch also crossed my mind, but I'm not entirely sure. I tried cranking directly from the starter and the engine cranks, but obviously will not start. I couldn't find a relay under the hood, but I also checked all the grounding, just to be sure, and they were all tight.
Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Does this sound like an anti-theft issue? Thanks!
