My LX450 (Toyota Land Cruiser) does the EXACT same thing in regards to the oil level sensor. The light comes on shortly after start up for a minute or two, then goes off.

Of course if you are driving along and the light suddenly comes on, something may be amiss.

I think you're ok... just be cognizant of the oil level and enjoy the car

PS - I've been perpetually searching for an '05 Lex IS300 5-speed for many years now... Awesome car.

What kind of oil filter are you using? The way the filter sits, oil drains out easily & the pressure sensor is near the oil filter housing which is near the #5 cylinder. The pump is the front of the crank

That is a good theory, but we are talking about the oil LEVEL light.

This vehicle has a regular oil pressure sensor as well as an oil level indicator.
