04 Dodge Neon MT / Which Amsoil Fluid to use?

The owners manual for my 04 Neon calls for ATF+4 fluid in the 5 speed manual transmission I own. I would like to switch to Amsoil, but I am confused about which fluid to use. Amsoil Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid shows to be compliant with the ATF+4 spec, but Amsoil Synthetic Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid is made for manual transmissions. I am out of warranty, so am just looking for the best fluid recommendation for my application. Any advice on which one to use?

I'd get the slightly thicker Amsoil Synchromesh.

I generally say to bring it up a notch to Amsoil MTF which is a few cSt more viscous than ATF at 100°C. I will recommend it in this case too, because I have a couple NEON customers in warm climates doing it with improved shifting - but please do some research to see if other owners have tried different fluids in colder areas. Specifically fluids in the 9-10 cSt range. If dino/dino blend ATF+4 works fine, synthetic light MTF should be perfectly fine.

I am NOT recommending 11-12-13-14-15+ cSt 75W-85, 75W-90 type gear oil.

I'm very happy with the Amsoil MTF in my ATF spec transmission, but I'm in a warm climate.

Any ATF+4 or equivalent from the local store is good enough.

Amsoil MTF and Redline MTL are slightly thicker and should perform well. RoyalPurple SynchroMax is another option and the same visc as ATF.

Amsoil Universal ATF works just fine in any ATF+4 application, and is more durable than most ATF+4 fluids.

I recommend it.

I am very happy with the Redline MTL that is in my 04 Neon. However, I wouldn't hesitate to put AMSOIL's MTF in.

I had Pennzoil synchromesh in for about 5000 or so miles prior to putting the MTL in as a flushing fluid.

I did not know thay even made a MT for a Neon. Who would have thought?

I put in the Amsoil ATF in my '04 Neon for over a year now and it has been great. Lot less gummy feeling in the cold and shift wonderfully. I'd make the same decision again.

I forgot to mention, I had the AMSOIL ATF in my 04 neon from about 13000 miles to 50000 or 55000 miles. I like it over the OEM ATF+4.
