Hi,

Looking for brand recommendations. With the changes to parts lines like Moog, I have no idea who to place faith in. Truck has 105k on it.

Thanks.

I recently went with MAS from rock auto. The shaft is smaller than OEM, I am on the fence but it installed fine and havent crashed yet.

I'd go to the Chevy dealer for that part, or at least one of the online ones like gmpartsdirect.

We recently replaced the tie rods on my mom's 2005 Tahoe using AC Delco professional purchased from Amazon. So far so good.

^^^This. The Moog Problem Solver tie rods should still be A-OK.

I replaced the front inners and outers on my '03 Chevy with Moog Problem Solvers around 3.5 years ago. Zero problems.

Was doing some research this morning, and saw that Moog is now made in 16 countries. When I saw that, I thought 'so if I get a Turkish or Chinese made part, is it any better than a house brand?'.

I'll go after the Problem Solver Moog. Saw some on Amazon, not sure if it was that line of parts. I'll make sure to get the appropriate part. Amazon is about 60% of what the stores are at for Moog.

I recently went with Beck/Arnley and ended up with reboxed Sankei-555. My other choice would have been Moog, but the cost was a lot higher. Good parts either way.

Beck/Arnley is hit and miss, some stuff is reboxed OE other stuff is cheap garbage. Some URO parts junk is being sold for European cars by them, their supplier quality has slipped a lot so I don't use them anymore.

Rock Auto sells the OE parts at a good price. GM Original Equipment

Raybestos Pro is a good choice.

Does your truck use rack and pinion steering or a gearbox? Sometimes a P/S rack will develop a leak, then the power steering fluid would dissolve the grease on the inner tie rod end. That wears it out very quickly.

I suggest peeling back the rack boots before starting this job. You don't want to start a job and discover you can't finish it.
