2025 Toyota Rav4 personal engine oil struggle.

    I can't believe there's 10 pages on oil for a brand new, dealer-serviced Rav 4.

Polishing the windshield with the Dual Action

I've never had anything on a windshield that a combination of claybar or razorblade couldn't get off. I do that type of cleaning once a year and it keeps wiper blades working like new.

    Which tire protectant?

Nothing. Tire goop sucks. Keep em clean and when they're too old, get new ones.

An n/a civic on the highway... I don't think you need to worry about oil

Just saw a Goodyear commercial titled "Forever the greatest name in tires"

Really appreciate this. I've got a street driven BRZ so I'm definitely not looking for the fastest/most outright grip. Only one followup- are they pretty quiet? I've heard they are but I figured I'd ask.

    Possible tire issue Continental LX25

Yeah that just sounds like tread squirm on a new set of tires. I've had that and it's pretty wild how drastic it can feel.

    Conti DWS06+ vs. Michelin PSAS4

Thats the size I need too and I was interested in the as3+ so I contacted pirelli last year to see if they'd be expanding the size offerings. Never got a response but I did miss a phone call from Pirelli. They didn't leave a message. Weird way to do business.

Subaru BRZ First Oil Change - Synthetic at 1000 kms ?

dumped my 22 brz's factory fill right around 3000 miles. didn't notice any metal but I also didn't go prospecting for it. have changed it twice a year since, roughly 3500 miles on each change. car runs great, doesn't burn any.

    Conti DWS06+ vs. Michelin PSAS4

This is wrong. Spring and autumn exist in some places and UHP all seasons excell in these months when weather fluctuates day to day. I run a summer/winter setup but the old "more like NO season tires" trope is ill-informed. They do have benefits and can be a smart choice depending on your...

    Conti DWS06+ vs. Michelin PSAS4

Quiet and refined. Tire rack really likes the new'ish P Zero AS+3. I'd give them a try but their 17 inch sizes are very limited.

Just saw a Goodyear commercial titled "Forever the greatest name in tires"

I've been thinking about giving the new F1 Asymmetric 6s a shot. I had the Asymmetric 2s years ago and I liked them quite a bit. Very quick, immediate inputs, relatively low noise and comfortable enough.

    Conti DWS06+ vs. Michelin PSAS4

What's really impressive is that the updated Generals match or beat the Continentals in everything but winter driving and cost about $20 less per tire. Anyone here have any experience with the General AS07s?

Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus

Not trying to be a turd and I know Continental lists them as suitable for crossovers but on something that's heavy and all wheel drive, I would never expect any more than 30k out of a 'performance' tire. If you're looking for maximum life (which makes sense if you're putting on 25k miles a...

New conti tires and a new noise?

Wow, that'll definitely make a noise! Good find. I've had no issues with my set of dws06+ but I have read about quality control issues, like yours, from other owners. I guess that's why they cost a little less than the comparable Michelin/Pirelli/Bridgestone. edit: I just went to tirerack...

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 vs Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus

I've had both. The Michelins feel better from a performance standpoint. They respond and feel more like a summer tire with a properly stiff sidewall. The Continentals are a lot more comfortable, both in ride quality and noise level. Dry and wet grip is excellent in both though the...

Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus

Yeah those consumer reports noise ratings are weird. The DWS06+ are definitely quieter than the PSAS4 and the BFG Comp2s are notoriously loud.

New in 2024: Continental VikingContact 8 Studless Winter Tire

I know that sensation. When I went from worn summer goodyears to new michelin pilot sport all seasons on my Focus ST, I had so much squirm on the highway that I thought my rear sway bar was disconnected. Had to lift up the car again just to make sure everything was tight because it felt so...

New in 2024: Continental VikingContact 8 Studless Winter Tire

I have run Blizzak WS90s in 2 very mild Chicago winters and can confirm that winter tires are not good when temps are in the 30s and 40s. Grip is noticeably worse than a good set of uhp all seasons and braking can be a legitimate hazard in rain. That said, we did have one pretty brutal cold...
