I figured this going into asking this question. But this is BITOG after all, so I was curious to see what the community said. Thanks for all the help.

For short trips + 5k OCI's, What to look for in a filter?

Basically what I was thinking. Sticking with OEM after this change, since I already bought the Fram Ultra.

For short trips + 5k OCI's, What to look for in a filter?

2022 Tacoma V6 Valoline 5W30 + OEM Filters 5k OCI's, short trips daily. Max is 20 miles stop and go per day. Should I prioritize the best filtration? IE: using Fram Ultras. Or should I use fully synthetic filters? IE: Purolator Boss Just curious on what this community thinks.

I’m stuck on what filter I should use. I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Thanks for the info. Valvoline EP 5w30 is hard to find consistently my my local Walmarts, but M1 EP is always there. Based off all of these comments and info, I’m going to switch to M1 EP 5W30 + a Fram Ultra for this go around and keep the OCI at 5K.

For my use case would Mobile 1 EP be better for my 5k OCI and short daily trips?

The short trips are what concerned me about switching OCI’s. I’ll order up an analyst kit from Black Stone and go from there.

Looking to switch to once a year oil changes for my 2022 Tacoma, which is due for an oil change at 15k miles. Max yearly mileage wouldn’t exceed 15k a year, I live on the Gulf Coast, my daily commute is 8 miles of short trips (gym + work). Current is 5k OCIs with 5w30 Valvoline EP + OEM...

Land Cruiser got some new blood!

Been thinking about switching to once a year changes for my 2022 Tacoma, but I have always done 5k OCIs. What filter are you running? How many miles per year?

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

Pick up 6 quarts of Valvoline EP 5W30 for my 2022 Tacoma. Switched from an OEM filter to a Fram Ultra for this time around. I expect to see no difference, but for only $3 more than an OEM filter why not. 5k OCI is overkill for both the oil and filter, the best oil is fresh oil. Oh and for...

    Best Filter These Days?

I noticed when these types of threads pop up most people suggest canister style filters. Are there any brand cartridge style filters that are “better” than an OEM manufacturer?
