I installed a Unitronic catback (factory tune and DP) on my Mk8 GTi and there is a noticeable, but not terribly bad drone around 2500 rpm. That happens to be exactly where I spend most of the time when I’m on the interstate with my 6 speed. I love the tone and volume otherwise though.
I...
The only problem with that test, was TFL didn’t manually shift to keep brake applications low until they were almost to the bottom. The DCT is definitely not made for towing and doesn’t even have a tow/haul mode built in. I don’t plan on towing any heavy loads but it’s nice to know this little...
This is the only “truck” I’ve ever owned that had a low enough GVRW to run RPF1’s. I wanted a set of RPT’s on my last couple trucks but didn’t want to spend 2k just for the wheels.
I decided to spoil myself a little with this set and got the last set of bronze wheels in the US for that size.
Unfortunately Hyundai thought it was good idea. The piece at 12 o’clock pops out and a go pro can be mounted there.
It’s part of their marketing campaign to target surfers, hikers, kayakers, bicyclists and other outdoor enthusiasts like myself.
Yes, these are a factory installed accessory. Most Santa Cruz’s came with a smaller version that doesn’t have the mount built in.
I’m not a big fan of them and will probably modify them somehow to remove the extra stuff that was molded in.
It’s AWD with a transverse setup. It has H trac which is Hyundai’s version of brake controlled torque vectoring. I wish they had included some limited slip diffs, but it should get around about as good as some of the Subarus.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the extra junk molded into the flares either. Maybe I’ll sand them down to remove the in your face “Easter eggs”
I got 2 grand more than I paid for my Titan when I bought it brand new last year.
Sold my Titan and picked this up last week. It’s not a truck, but I think I will meet my needs.
It’s a Santa Cruz limited with the 2.5T/DCT. I’m not a fan of the stock wheels so those were gone as soon as I got home from the dealer. I’ve wanted a set of Enkei RPF1 wheels for a long time and I...
The Santa Cruz 2.5 NA has a traditional 8 speed slush box. If the 2.5T was offered with that same transmission, I would definitely have went that way since a DCT off of pavement can be difficult.
Sounds like Texas and PNW are similar. If you are referring to aggressive and idiotic drivers that make a normal person want to commit an act of road rage.
I’m a cheapskate along with wanting to make incremental improvements to my wife’s daily driver.
18’s were my only option.
It ended up saving me 20-25 pounds and $300 vs a comparable set of 19’s. And I still would have been paranoid about potholes and curbs since my wife isn’t quite as...
18’s are definitely the smallest I can go with a 13.6” rotor up front. Kia upgraded the brakes quite a bit from the other K5’s for the GT.
I think it is a similar setup to what they put on the non-brembo equipped stingers.
It will stop from 60-0 in 103 feet when equipped with PS4S tires...
Enkei has perfected their MAT process which is a combination of forging and casting. I’m sure that’s a terrible oversimplification, but that’s how I understand it anyway. I just know that they are lightweight, strong and not terribly expensive.
I bought a set of RPF1 wheels for my Santa Cruz...
I’m guessing that the Stinger in your signature is what she chose. We test drove a 2.5T and 3.3TT Stinger. My wife loved the hatch but the rear seat room and the fact that the tech is a generation behind, made the K5 her winner. I would have loved to have AWD for my wife, but I’ve been impressed...
