My brother’s 2019 camry 4 cylinder A25A-FKS owner’s manual says the oil pump will survive a 15w40 .

I ran 20w50 in mine for years with no problems. But then again it doesn’t go below 40f in my region.

I installed long headers recently and started to notice ticking noise with load not rpm. I was confused but after researching for a bit, i think it could be a leak from the headers. And yes the truck doesn’t have afm from factory and never went into v4 mode.

Quick question. if the engine has a lifter problem or ticking noise will it show up on UOA?

Too expensive, plus labor cost for changing oil is only 5$ . Which is why I prefer replacing oil more frequently.

My oil is sp rated, so it’s not this one . I didn’t expect much considering it’s a dino oil👍

The 6.2 doesn’t have dod in this model year, so I don’t think it will have any problems . And yes there is 5w50 but it’s expensive and not as thick as the 20w50

Yeah i noticed that too it's made in USA but not sold there? but then again we dont have CAFE here lol. anyways 20W50 is the bread and butter of every car here camry,altima,hyundai

the truck is hauling the load easily at highway speeds . my temps are fine even with this hot summer. when i changed the oil i noticed an increase in oil pressure around 5 psi but i guess that is normal.

UOA on my 2013 sierra . mostly highway with payload of 2k pounds ,running 20w50 because why not ? surprised by how the viscosity thinned out to 40 with only 5k miles.

If a thicker oil was bad for your engine, your engine wouldn’t survive a single winter . Even a thin 0w20 in the winter would probably be thicker than 20w50 at summer temperatures .
