    GENERAL ALTIMAX RT45 vs SINCERA SN250 A/S

General recommended the 365AW, and reminded me that there is a 45 day satisfaction guarantee. Ordered, will be installed Thursday. Bob

    GENERAL ALTIMAX RT45 vs SINCERA SN250 A/S

Yeah, we get some snow, but only average around 40" per year. My son is mostly worried about losing fuel efficiency, which is understandable, since his car only averages about 21.5mpg (I'm guessing he's a bit of a lead foot). The CRV is not a quiet car, so I don't want super noisy tires...

    GENERAL ALTIMAX RT45 vs SINCERA SN250 A/S

I'm now in a similar situation: RT45 vs 365AW for a 2010 Honda CR-V in Southeast Michigan...tough choice. There are some reviews and comments on both tires, but it is hard to get a sense of how they will perform in my situation (and some wildly disparate opinions, particularly for noise and...

Anyone know when next rebates will be for Continental (or General, or others I guess)?

Wow thanks everyone. I must have gone to the wrong website cuz I didn't see rebate General tires. The seem to indicate that the Continental LX25 is quite good across the board, with no glaring negatives. The General 365AW scores a bit better in winter, leaning more toward winter capability...

Anyone know when next rebates will be for Continental (or General, or others I guess)?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like late November will be the ticket. The CR-V is pretty good in Michigan weather, even with average tires. Or, maybe I'm just used to driving in snow etc. Anyway, I considered (and may still consider) a more budget tire such as the Goodyear Reliant, Milestar...

Anyone know when next rebates will be for Continental (or General, or others I guess)?

Excellent info, thanks Sequoiasoon. I've heard that the Truecontacts are also very good tires. Bob

Anyone know when next rebates will be for Continental (or General, or others I guess)?

Plan to get new tires for my son's 2010 CR-V (225 65 R17), and looking at the Continental LX25 or maybe the General 365AW (maybe the RT45 or other decent all seasons good for SE Michigan). Probably get tires from DT (Costco have limited selection in this size, so they are all around $200 each)...

    2010 CR-V oil use...

I've read something about the low tension rings, but wasn't sure which years were affected. I be giving the rings a good cleaning... Bob

    2010 CR-V oil use...

Thanks for the replies. I also found a similar thread for a similar engine, but not exactly the same. The guy was using something called HPC, I think, to try to free up rings. My question is moreso about the possibility of the PCV causing the problem (never run into a PCB causing so much...

    2010 CR-V oil use...

Got a 2010 Honda CR-V, 2.4 engine with 175k miles for my son in June. Well maintained, overall. Engine runs great, but has a mildly lumpy idle. I did the usual stuff like new air filter, plugs, and PVC valve (just because). All fluids were full and appeared in good condition. I was stunned...

    MTB XC all-around tires

Late to the party, but the Continental uses a release agent which has to be scrubbed off prior to setting up tubeless. The chemical is super slippery. I do it in the bathtub with dawn dish soap, hot water and a rag. Really scrub the inside and bead areas, and rinse well. I've heard that some...

So I got the Michelin Defender 2

Repeating myself here, but we just had a surprise snowstorm. Wife drove to work, took forever, tons of cars off the road. She encouraged me to cancel dental appointment, but I wanted to see how the tires would do. They are freaking brilliant. Over nearly 4 decades of driving, other than...

So I got the Michelin Defender 2

I rarely get a chance to visit here so my response to this thread is just pure luck. I ended up getting the Michelin CC2. They're honestly everything that they claim to be, except they are just a little noisy. It isn't severe, but it is definitely noticeable. The ride is firm, bordering on...

    Strange Observation regarding Engine Vibration

Plugs were "Laser," and properly gapped. The mounts idea was a good one. I know it is a stretch, but I don't think it is impossible. If a different oil can change the sound of an engine (I've heard it many times) then it is plausible that it could create vibration at a different frequency...

    Strange Observation regarding Engine Vibration

Oh goody..I'm a loon. :) Edited to add: I did check the mounts and dampers, didn't note anything unusual. Look intact. Bob

    Time for new tires

Heck, if I lived in the mountains and encountered serious snow, I would definitely get snows...and an all wheel drive to limit risk of getting stuck. I'm in the flatlands of SE Michigan. Not very challenging. Except...I think in 2013(?) we had 92" total snowfall (I think it varied between 92 and...

    Strange Observation regarding Engine Vibration

2019 Honda Accord, 1.5T. 0w20 oil. Quaker State Full Synthetic and Purolator One Filter. Also changed the plugs to NGK Lazer ILZKAR8JSY, which are the OE equivalents. Recently noted several annoying buzzing and rattles within the dash. They are mostly sympathetic vibrations that correlate with...

    Time for new tires

Yeah my wife doesn't drive her CRV too much in heavy snow. But I was surprised that the car did quite well in snow, even on the horrible hockey pucks that came with it. But I think a lot of it comes down to my comfort of driving in snow. We grew up driving mostly rear wheel drive crappy cars...

    Time for new tires

Yeah, if I lived in the mountains I would get a more snow focused tire. Those wear indicators are nice, kinda like the Conti DWS. I think I'll be exchanging the Defenders for CC2. The deciding factor is that I've had some unexpected wheel spin on dry pavement, and I'm betting this translates to...
