    Yamaha Drive 2 Golf Cart

I've read in several other places on the 'net that Yamaha doesn't recommend synthetic motor oil in their cart motors because they are splash lubricated. There is no mention of synthetic or non-synthetic in the owner's manual. Thoughts?

    Michelin or Uniroyal?

Help me decide: For my wife's '08 Highlander...Michelin Cross Terrain $900 OTD or Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country $480 OTD. Both include lifetime balancing and rotation. I love Michelins and generally get screwed when I try to cheap out, but almost half-price for the Uniroyals is tempting. Anyone...

    "Special" Fuel for a thief...

My neighbor at the lake keeps a 5gal plastic jug of gasoline on his dock and has had three of them stolen this summer. He asked me what he could spike one with that would do a number on whatever the fuel was burned in. He's looking for something effective, yet cheap and easily available. I...

    New/Old Lawn Boy

Took a load of used motor oil to the recycling center Saturday morning and saw a familiar shade of green over beside one of the dumpsters. It turned out to be a LB 10323, very dirty, but appearing complete. I loaded her up and brought her home to join the rest of the LB fleet. Not a part was...

Why do I carry a gun?

Thought some of you folks might enjoy this: By Maj. Lee Caudill USMC (Ret) Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of...

    Valvtec Ethanol Gas Treatment

Anyone using this new stuff in the green bottle? All the propaganda sounds good, but I'm a little afraid to change over from Marine Sta-Bil. The local Yamaha dealer service department seems to thinks it's the best thing going for counteracting the harmful effects of ethanol in 4-stroke...

    Mobil vs. Pennzoil

Advertised specials running locally: Mobil Clean 5000 $1.49/qt, Pennzoil Conventional $1.29 per quart. Any advantages/disadvantages to either? Thinking about stocking up on 5W20 and 5W30.

    Mobil 1 question...

After agonizingly researching & reading I've decided to switch my TC88 Harley over to synthetics. Thinking of going with Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W50 in the crankcase & primary, and Mobil 1 Synthetic 70W90 Gearl Lube in the transmission. Comments or suggestions would be welcome.

    Yamaha XT350 Oil?

I have used Golden Spectro 20W50 in my 1985 BMW R80RT for years. I've recently acquired a 1991 Yamaha XT350 and wonder if it is okay to use the GS in it? I ask because the Yamaha has a so-called "wet" clutch (BMW doesn't). Will the synthetic component of the GS make the "wet" clutch slip?
